Hi, I’m Chris Hitte and I’m a Staff Pastor at discoverlifechurch.tv. Among many things, my responsibilities include overseeing the various ministries that take place inside and outside the church, staffing and managing ministry positions and ministry leaders, teaching, and assisting the Lead Pastor wherever possible. It is my desire to see people continue to Love God, Connect with each other, and Serve the World! It’s great to be a part of the team here at discoverlifechurch.tv.
THE BASICS: After meeting at the age of fourteen, my wife, Brittany and I got married in June of 2004. I literally noticed her out of a large crowd and said to myself, “I’ve got to meet her!” Two hours later, I did! On our two year anniversary, sitting at our ultra-sound appointment, the doctor informed us that we were having twins! We later found out they were both…boys! Our twins, Ky and Dray are now 2 1/2. My wife gave birth to our third son, Bryson Lee. He is a blessing!
Our children have been the most amazing blessing that my wife and I have yet to experience. As you can imagine, we have no pets. Our home generally has all the excitement you need for one family! We have currently been serving at Discover Life Church for over 5 years and we have been extremely blessed to be a part of what God has done. MY INTERESTS:
Places: Cancun, Mexico, the Bahamas, and anywhere on a cruise ship, I definitely love Brevard County–we’re surrounded by everything you need.
What’s on your iPod: Anything from Classical (good for studying) to Gospel (when you want to have some church all by yourself) to rock (when you feel like driving fast for no reason)…as you can see I enjoy many different genres of music.
Books: I enjoy anything that directly relates to something in my life–personal growth, leadership, spiritual growth…
What do you TiVo: Sad to say, but I don’t have that option on my TV…am I behind?
Sport Teams: Orlando Magic! This proves I’m not a “fair weather” fan. I prefer playing sports versus watching them.
Movies: I’m a comedy guy. I enjoy the humor of Chris Farley, Will Ferrell, Chevy Chase, and many others! Action/Suspense movies are always a plus!
Hobbies: I enjoy playing the drums/piano, exercising with family, pickup football games, boating, and studying just to name a few.
Dislikes: I’m not a fan of cold weather, reptiles, insects, math, (or people who seem to have all the answers—they’re no fun to talk to). Other than that, I’m pretty easy to please.
Odd Facts: I’m deathly afraid of sharks, crabs, and any other living “thing” in the ocean, yet I have chosen to live on the east coast of Florida. My wife is three months older than me, and I’m OK with it. My twin boys are supposed to be identical, yet they look nothing alike and have different color eyes. I can’t stand my toast to be too “toasted”.
Life Scripture: Galatians 6:7-9 (NIV) “7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
I just finished up a small project my wife handed me a week or two ago. With the arrival of our new baby boy (2 months away) coming, we decided to make the most of our three bedroom house. We made our third bedroom a full-time playroom. We decided to go with a theme like a shack or a little tiki hut type theme…with a stage for the boys drums, guitars, and other stuff…with a slanted roof over top! It turned out pretty good! (I’m hoping my boys go professional in something…Dad needs a good retirement!) I will definitely post pictures soon…once Brittany is finished decorating.
