I just re-read this blog and posts and giggled all over again. Cher had a GREAT attitude when falling into a standing position in a hole in the deep dark of night. God is truly an amazing God.

Congratulations guys. That's a cute photo.
"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world." John 17:24
Love existed before God created the universe. On love was all that is founded. When we build on love, flow in love all of our days, we are integrated with the very fabric and purpose for which the earth was formed.
"He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight." Eph 1:4

I am thankful for my Britney. Without Britney Spears my world would be gone. I would not live without her music and my future wife Shenae Grimes. Also God gave me Miley Cyrus to look up to so go miley & britney!

I am thankful for parents that did not compromise in their commitment to God even when I did not understand or like their strict rules. Also for Kenny's parents that had the same set of convictions. I am thankful for a church of dedicated people who are willing to work and win the lost. I am thankful to have been born in the US which WAS established in a belief in God. I am thankful for a husband who loves God and takes his rightful place as priest of our home. I am thankful for children who grew up and now have a relationship with God and are training their children to know God personally. I am blessed to have my physical family and DLC family and that I know loves God and I could call on at any time for prayer. When I pulled into my driveway this afternoon after church, I told God how thankful I was for all He had given me. I am blessed beyond measure.

The biggest thanks goes out to the God of all creation who loved me so much much that He sent His only son Jesus, to die so that I could have everlasting life with Him.
But also, like you Pastor Chris, I am thankful for the little things in my life. Things that may not mean much to others, but mean the world to me.
I am thankful for a Spirit-led wife, who continued to be obedient to God in her prayers for me, when I wasn't reading the Bible or attending church a couple of years ago.
She never gave up on me because God never gave up on me.
Thank you God for my wife.
"I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving." Psalm 69:30

Chris, Great article! I think Mark's comment causes us to think and realize that when God does not answer according to our request, it doesn't mean failure, just that God has a better plan (although at the time it might not seem better). When we pray for healing and God does not heal, we need to say as Jan Crouch did to the doctors who gave her a bad report, "you can't scare me with Heaven." As we grow and mature we realize that even when God chooses a different way for us, there is always peace when we are in the perfect will of God, even when we don't understand. 1 Timothy 6:11-12 tells us, "But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. FIGHT the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses." Paul lists 6 things we are to pursue, but only tells us to fight for one, faith. That pretty much lets us know faith does not come so easy. We are to constantly renew our minds on the Word of God and if we do not, we will easily give up what we could have had if we would have fought a little longer. We do understand that fights are lost or won. There is a winner and a loser. I don't particularly like to fight, but God has equipped us for the battle and we will be victorious as we follow him. Recently someone told me God does not always heal and I am very much aware of that since my Mother was ill for many years with a very debilitating disease, but I don't ever want to be guilty of not having because I did't ask for the seemingly impossible. I believe as christians it is time for us to shake ourselves, square our shoulders back and realize who we have dwelling inside of us and start asking God for even bigger things. I believe that Satan has been successfull in his attack on us and as a result, we don't expect as much from God as he wants to give us in our walk with HIm. As we walk with God, I believe there is peace when the storm begins, in the middle of the storm, and after the storm is over. We need to trust God to know what is best for us. Does that remind us of what we tell our children? Father does know what is best!

Pastor chris,
Don't you think that the Lord is dealing with alot of us with our faith?! We have not had to live on our faith but on our knowledge of faith. But in the times to come I believe that God is getting us ready to be able to trust Him and all that we KNOW as truth and move that knowledge of faith to a personal experience of faith. We need to build our "reservoir" so that as we encounter things and have to stand through what is coming we wil be able to stand in the true knowledge of a loveing and FAITHful God! (No matter what it looks like to our earthly eyes).
No matter what our faith level is we need to always ask for more faith and continue to grow our experiences to be able to have an immediate reaction of standing on His word and His will. (knee-jerk type thing)
Truly believing God for the things that we desire, like health (or whatever else we want), takes alot on our part and it is hard some days to stand on the Word of God with all that is going on around us. We just need to continue to work on that mustard seed size faith and watch it blossom into the full deep-rooted tree.
Thanks for the reinforcements!!!

Faith?..................To be filled of faith is to be free of fear.Pray a prayer of faith for someone else, believe for them until you can believe for yourself. It's alot easier to believe God for another person's infirmities than ours. When we selflessly pray for others the blessings are so great, that God starts to show us needs much bigger that ours.
So walk by faith and not by sight, live in the light and always be willing to give a God answer to those around you. Thank you Pastor for reminding us what is the fuel of our way of life.
